I like Hakeem Jeffries as a person, but I increasingly feel that he’s not the right leader for these truly perilous times. I want to see more fire in the belly. More anger. More passion. Our country and our democracy are under daily assault by Trump and Musk, for fuck’s sake. ACT LIKE IT, damn it!!!

I am definitely not going to speak for any PoC but for white guys on the left, we don't care if Jeffries is black, purple or green. What we want to see and hear is a leader with a plan and the strength to execute it.

Let's just say it was a colorful way to express our lack of concern or even thought about the Speaker's race. I could not care any less. What I do care about is a plan of action and a leader who can execute. If it turns out to be Jeffries, then awesome. I'm not a huge fan so far.

Yes. Because it’s really annoying when white people (it’s only white people who do this) list silly colors along with actual races of people. Problematic is for a number of reason. Please avoid this in the future.

My fellow whites & I put us all in this situation, then blame Black men and women in Congress, who are currently without any true power to stop this, and now we're shopping around for the next white man we can prop up as a messiah to get us back out of this again. The blame is on white voters only.
