It's the 21st Century. Who still doesn't understand that school choice is a new brand for school segregation? Poor kids should be at work instead of in schools. Education is something only rich kids deserve.

AFAICT the "temporary" bit is a feature not a bug. For a lot of the people in the movement, I reckon vouchers & ESAs are very consciously being used as trojan horse to sell privatization so support for public ed becomes weak enough to then start reducing/eliminating state funding for any of it.

Public education is a threat to delusional family thinking, therefore a threat to the grand plan for freedom, is my take from the libertarian POV as I imagine it to be from what I've read from postings. Of course, my conclusion is based on my own opinion of what I've read by a few that adhere.
