I'm thinking the one who is now HoF could be Johnny Bench. Because he and I are essentially contemporaries, I recall checking his daily performances from my dorm room in Bowling Green, OH that 1st spring and pulling for him to make it to prove all the naysayers about his style and personality wrong.
