Must applicants pay ($30) to become members before applying?
Even a small fee can deter people if money is tight. Recent survey shows 85% of grad students worry about $ for rent and food.

We ask that applicants become part of the society to be eligible for annual grants, a standard practice among most academic societies. Membership carries other benefits as well. Minimum student membership cost is only $20 - $30 is for both online & print access to the journal #JTBS
BTW, inconsistent $ amount for GSRF.
