The US congress should not be a retirement home and I would like for all the people who are my parents age to step aside and let some of the people my children's age have some power for a change

I don't necessarily disagree but the voters have a choice. My ancient senator, Ben Cardin, finally retired and that's why we have Angela Alsobrooks. Steny Hoyer, not my representative, is 85 yo. MD voters are pretty educated & they still voted for him.

It costs a huge amount to run for Senate. My fmr Congressman David Trone is obscenely wealthy. He spent a buttload of money in the Senate primary against Alsobrooks. He outspent her by a factor of 10. The reason she won was bc she was the County Executive of a majority Black county. She actually

has been in state politics much longer than him. His wealth got him his seat, but only one district was familiar with him. She ran for statewide office & had better name recognition.
