I don't know what to think of this. My sweetheart just took a trans girl friend to the border a couple weeks ago for her to seek asylum. She was accepted and is now in asylee/refuges housing in Ontario.

Good for her! There are pathways opening, but slowly. There's mention in the article. I know another trans person who just contacted the canadian authorities and they had to get some additional paperwork.

I don't know anyone specifically organizing around this, and my sweetie is in a different region of the US than me. In the case I screenshotted, his friend just asked if he could give her a ride to the border bc she doesn't have a car, and to just be present with her as she talked to border agents.

I hope that if the US and Europe are no longer allies the agreements that prevent Americans from seeking asylum will no longer be in place. I hope.
