One of my least-favorite bad takes is when a centrist Dem says “if the left is mad at me and the right is mad at me, I must be doing something right.” That is not what it means. The left is mad at you bc you’re doing something wrong and unpopular, and the right is mad at you bc you’re a Democrat.
