Aww thank you so much Dami ;; I'm so touched by your compliment. This is a very old manga from the 70s shoujo era, and was in fact the first BL story ever published! It's a beautiful work, very well written but also deals with a lot of heavy topics. I admire the mangaka a lot!

KazeKi is the first BL manga ever created, and it was so revolutionary it took the mangaka 7 years for it to be approved for publication! It's a melancholic and beautiful story, very realistic and well-written, that deals with a lot of heavy topics

I know this manga's a classic but I've never read it (was never published here) But I really like your redraw of the cover, your style fits these vintage manga so well. The faces are so pretty, I especially like the left one! And I'm so in love with their hair (short curly hair's my weakness)

Oh and sadly the manga has very little chance of being published anywhere :'c I don't think there's a single Keiko Takemiya work that's been licensed to English in fact. I'm very lucky that there's a beautiful Spanish edition but that's it I think. No other editions worldwide whatsoever.

It was my very first BL manga.... I loved it so much. Looking back on it, it is eerily realistic in it's depiction of how abuse is handed down, and how abused kids act and are seen by the rest of the world.

When I was 13, all I could think was "Serge is adorable" and "Yaaay Gilbert shirtless again"

how the characters are affected by all situations seen in the manga. And ultimately, how their situations make them so different in behavior and response. The contrast between Serge and Gilbert is masterful, and Takemiya put so much love and detail into showing their own perspective of the world

It is really hard to find, even worse when I was a young teenager and like only 2 chapters were translated (by fans) for the longest time... It was my grandmothers fault, she knew I liked manga and bought me a book about manga through the ages when I was 11 ^^;; How were you able to read it?

I read it and because I was having such an awful time I convinced myself there had to be a happy ending and when it ends the way it does I didn't even register its bc "Gilbert will be fine he's just sleeping" ..... When I realized I was bawling my eyes out

I'm very happy you've read it! I get it, I've read this manga multiple times but I've never managed to read the ending more than once... After Gilbert quits his waiter job, things start going downhill I think. The whole narration is very powerful, it really impacted me emotionally. So much respect

Oh absolutely, I appreciate the story Kazeki is telling, but it breaks my heart at the same time.

Logically their behaviour is sound but internally I'm shouting at them to "pls do things differently don't you see what I see, this is you downfall noo 😭"
