I have similar feelings. I wish him well, but I’m not sure he’ll ever be truly happy. Maybe as a Dodger or Padre.

I think he overestimates his value and idk if either of those teams want to engage at this point.

Totally understand that he wants to wait and see if the Dodgers bite, but if they don’t and no one else does, where we do go from here that isn’t a total mess in ST?

And this is coming from someone who doesn’t mind if he is the every day 3B in 2025 (Contreras and Gray not waiving their NTC pretty much told me where this off-season was headed) and Gorman lost his spot as the 2B in this third season, so I’m whatever on “blocking him.”

But it will be drama.

I guess it’s good that the Cards made it known that they’d eat money on his contract. The Astros apparently would’ve paid 40-45 million over the remainder of the deal. That’s like paying market value for a 2.5 WAR player for 3 years.
