I have fond memories of going with my mom as a kid when she voted; back when they still used the cool mechnical voting machines with the curtain, the levers you'd flip to make your selections, and then the big lever you'd pull to record the ballot.

... voted 1st time on those same machines in '96.
After turning 18 two decades ago, my mother marched me to the polling place to cast a midterm election vote, and I have missed one election since.
