What’s a movie you were so, so wrong about and fully admit it now with your whole chest? I thought It’s a Wonderful Life was so cornball for years, before I saw it again a few years ago and suddenly I was the right age and now it’s one of my favorite movies and it’s so beautiful and wise and good

I hardly laughed the first time I saw it, even though everyone around me was dying.
Every viewing since I marvel at how I could have been so dense.
I went on a first date… there was never a second.
It’s A Wonderful Life is my favorite film, so I’m really happy you enjoy it now.
Also loved TRoS the first time I watched it because of Palpatine and the Reylo kiss, but the rest of the movie kinda sucks.
Rewatched it as an adult. I was incorrect.
Now love it.
To World Peace! Also… Don’t drive angry. 🤣
1. Bringing Up Baby: I was too young to appreciate it the first time I saw it, but now I’m older, I’ll take that zaniness every day of the week.
2. All Mike Leigh films. They tended to bore me, but I watch SECRET & LIES in awe now.
For me it was Napoleon Dynamite, I thought it was so odd, but it grew on me. So quirky.
he packed personal stakes into every perf but it’s so hard to parse his purpose at times.
it’s a very challenging piece.
"FLASH!
AHH-aaaaah!
He'll save every one of us!"
(Fo those who havent seen the movie, it's Queen! This and Highlander were their two soundtrack albums.)
I revisited it years later and LOVED IT. Championed it as one of my favorites!
Attack on Titan
It deserves every bit of praise it got and more.
WAY too many guys saw that film and mistakenly identified Brad Pitt's character as a hero -- but despite their confusion, it is still a great film.
And guess what, it's one of the best romantic comedies I've ever seen.
But that's why it works. If the direction were as weird as the screenplay, it would be the umpteenth 1980s indie comedy no one remembers anymore.
" It's Johnny Camarari🎶"
Feodor Chaliapin Jr.
Loretta: "Oh ma, I love him awful."
Ma: "Oh god, that's too bad."
A perfect cast and actually funny.
The line "all the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you" has been burned into my brain since I was child.
I wanna watch it too, now!
Saw it in the theater and thought it was the most boring thing I’d ever seen.
Cut to 6 or 7 years later, gave it another chance and realized it’s absolutely brilliant.
One of the best slow burn thrillers out there.
these days I love it for its confidence to establish for itself a look that looks like *nothing* else
Became one of my all-time favorite movies
I thought ugh, glamorizes violence and just ugh.
Love it, the script is amazing.
My husband made me watch it a few years ago and I actually loved it. Its part of our annual christmas movie marathon now, and the one I look forward to the most 😂
Trailers made it look same ol’, then last year I finally watched it at Xmastime and now it’s a favorite.
Funny, warm, and several Broadway-level musical numbers to boot (Give it 20 minutes to kick in)
I mean, Grave of the Fireflies is a fantastic movie. And My Neighbor Totoro is possibly the best children's movie ever made. But can you picture seeing those back to back? Oy.
then watched it while I isolated with COVID a couple years ago, & it suddenly clicked. slow cinema at its most rewarding. gripping & influential. incredible film.
don’t get me wrong, I adore the big screen but for me great art prevails regardless.
I was just a dumbshit 23 year old when I first saw it.
