Well each country who wants French nuclear umbrella pays for about 50 new warheads, and buys the Rafales that carry them. Keys remain in France, just like USA does
I tend to think that Putin caught the tiger's tail when he invaded Ukraine with his "three day operation" and now he knows what will happen when he lets go.
Not a bad analogy except the state of the Russian economy and sentiment towards Russia in Europe means eventually the tiger is gonna be able to get turned to eat his face anyways.
Its just a matter of time and tragically too many Ukrainian lives lost before it all burns down.
Because european nukes move since they are in submarines and on aircraft amd those on submarines already have enough reach as they are
+if stationed, for maximum efficiency that would be in Estonia/Latvia easier to shoot closer to the targets
France was the first country to say that putting their troops in Ukraine is not off the table. Ukraine has some great engineering culture and will be a force to be reckoned with after they get through this phase. They will never allow themselves to depend on the USA or Russia's treaties again.
UK needs to whip it's warheads off the trident missile units. They are tied to US re maintenance and god knows what else. New hypersonic R&D needs to be ramped up and french missile units utilised in the interim. The wake up call re Special relationship & what it means is startling. So one sided.
It will be a long journey. Far left and far right are against of course, for putinism reasons. Others are genuinely against for legitimate concerns, but of course it would be a great achievement for Europe.
Yep because Canada is partly in the Arctic along with Greenland, and Russia has been eyeing the Lomonosov Ridge for decades. They even sent subs and divers under the melting glacial ice to plant a flag there. Here's a map of that region for reference along with news reporting on the event in 2007.
After Bucha massacre he threw away his “we must talk with Putin” mode. And came to this senses and started to see what sort of monster rules in Kremlin.
This sabre-rattling from Macron means nothing since he’s a lame-duck whose party got decimated in recent elections and who enabled and lost to the far-right.
Which is why they can do that without asking anybody. So far there is few countries outside the non-proliferation treaty and US is(was) a close ally with 2 of them. If US pulls it's extended deterrence from Europe and South Korea the will soon be 2-3 more and I'm not sure US is going to like that

No longer afforded USA security she will ignite her industrial military complexes.
Europe is the only economy who could pull this off.
Trumps stabbing Ukraine in the back will be a blessing in disguise.
Make it grow.....
