This kind of post undermines the fact that mental health treatment is important and often necessary. Forests and oceans are wonderful, but they can’t cure depression. There’s nothing wrong with seeking therapy
I don't see it that way. Back then there wasn't the therapy as you have mentioned. It was a way for some, and still is today. I deal with depression and can say my woods have helped me greatly, so to each their own.
That’s nice for you, but not everyone’s depression is that mild. People with severe depression need the outlet of therapy and medications, and there’s nothing wrong with that
My post simply states that for some folks nature can heal. You stated it couldn't, you also assume other forms of therapy were dismissed. They were not, as said it was a time when modern therapy wasn't available. You have no idea how severe my depression is either. Enjoy your evening.
I never said nature couldn’t heal. I said that these kinds of posts are not helpful to those that are struggling with severe mental illness and need therapy. There is nothing wrong with approaching nature, but nature should not replace therapy. It’s not a personal insult. Don’t take it that way
