He grunted, coughed up a bit of phlegm, and stared at the horizon.

"You ever feel like the world’s just… unraveling?"

"Young’n, I been alive a hundred and eighty years. Seen droughts, floods, locusts, politicians. But I ain’t never seen a mess like this."
