On this date in 1938, Helen Khalic was arrested and jailed for five days for wearing trousers to court. After she was released, she wore a dress to her second appearance. All charges were dropped.

I had to look that up. It's not okay to wear flip-flops or shorts, but it's acceptable to wear a kilt as long as the overall theme is culturally respectful, not ironic or insulting.
I agree. Same with tank tops or bikini tops, etc.
It seems pretty obvious when someone is making an effort to honor/respect the process with their attire.
