We understand why this is a popular take, but this is exactly the kind of system the billionaire class wants. Then the only people who will run for Congress are independently wealthy, corrupt, old, men. We have enough of those as it is, we should pay Members of Congress AND teachers both A LOT MORE.

If you have more money than you will every need the only thing left is to run for Congress. They certainly don’t seem likely to give any money away.
