WOW, you're going at lightning speed. Awesome! I have no idea what happens behind the scenes. I'm not sure if the PBpitch founders are here on this site to gather more info.
So glad to see this. I think the key to making it successful is liaising with agents and editors and point blank asking them to participate on the day. Like getting a commitment from them. Bc there were some pitch events on Twitter that just felt like screaming into a void bc no industry folks came.
Going to reach out, but expecting the 1st one to be more of a community-building exercise to show that Bluesky is a viable place and agents/editors should come.
Any feedback and requests are welcome! So far we are narrowing to a picture book pitch, 1 pitch per MS, with up to 3 pitches. We will set a date once we see enough responses, but enough people are positive about the idea to go forward.
Yes, I think the staggered posting times would not work here, people see posts no matter the time of day, and the volume of pitches will be less overwhelming.
An editor's perspective: It might be too soon for this? That said, I'd definitely look at the pitches. My one suggestion is that it be clear that nonfiction PBs are included, and that participants should clearly ID them as NF. Thanks!
Thanks for joining the conversation! Going to approach this as a community-building event with low agent/editor turnout, so we can build in it and show off the creatives that are here & maybe entice more industry people over. NF will be included! 👍
