They don't want to give competitive advantages to the Switch 2 version of Splatoon 3

Mouse mode, 120hz, even just higher fidelity graphics could all do that

I imagine it was up to the individual development teams to decide if they wanted to tweak the games or not, with some games being strategic decisions out of their control of course

ARMS is done by the Mario Kart team and I think it's that they aren't worried of splitting the playerbase

i wouldnt be surprised at Splatoon 3 switch 2 edition with mouse aiming, higher visual specs (resolution, probably not fps), and a 3rd singleplayer campaign that then in turn takes full usage of switch 2 hardware

BUT S4 is more likely I think

They're gonna make a paid DLC thing not unlike Kirby and the Forgotten Land, but to keep competitive integrity, multiplayer isn't allowed to make use of Switch 2 fuctions like mouse controls, and increased framerate or resolution
