I do too. I see the blackout list as a lifestyle change. But the time I get to the date for the people on the list I will have already identified who the alternative company is and moved on. This is not a short term boycott but a divestment.
But retail data is compiled and looked at daily, by retailers & also credit card data, and this will be a good sign of the # of people who are concerned about the illegal takeover of our government. A 10-20% one day drop is a strong indication that the sentiment is against Trump and with Democracy.
I think this misses the point of the one-day complete boycott. Most people can't/won't stop shopping for long enough for it to get noticed in the short term. So, adjust your habits where you can.
