Facebook still absolutely cannot be beat for comments like, "Well, I finished watching all of the Best Picture nominees. I didn't care for them. I like The Fisher King."

I had Facebook 2008-11. It was grinding me down, then one day I opened it and saw a post from a "friend" (but someone I didn't actually know) that said, in its entirety, "oops, just ate expired hummus." Right then I deleted my account and didn't have social media for 13 years.
2/3 of the way through A Complete Unknown and can't believe that "guy alternates singing songs you know and songs you vaguely remember hearing once or twice on stage" is considered a plot. Also, going from shyly sweet to mumbling, surly star isn't really a character arc. No wonder it didn't win shit
I like my jokes over-explained and I'm also curious: Is the ideal interpretation here that this hypothetical person is 33 years behind on watching nominees for the 64th Oscars or just that the person knows what they like and they're sad that they don't make 'em like "The Fisher King" anymore?
I think they just have a particularly fisherkingcentric theory about what defines a good movie and they are very comfortable with that as a permanent yardstick!
