The Left not only lost the 2019 elections, it also lost the total control it had over the Labour party in 2019. This calls for an analysis beyond "Starmer misled members" (which he def did).

But it did not have total control. The PLP was beyond its control and much of it was hostile. Starmer actually moved against the left much more decisively than the left did against its enemies.
But maybe one could consider that poor judgement or incompetence on the part of the left.
It was much more than "Starmer misled members". It was a well orchestrated (and documented, see the Forde report and al-Jazeera's investigation, both quickly silenced by the MSM) campaign by, among others, Labor's right, the Tories and Israel.
