In cabinet meeting this morning Netanyahu, for the first time in 16 months, spelled out in a clear and unambiguous manner the Israeli endgame in Gaza:
- Hamas surrenders and its leadership exiled
- Israeli military rule over the entire Gaza Strip
-"Voluntary Migration" for Palestinians in Gaza

But the Israeli media has generally been reluctant to come to terms with the true nature of the Gaza war. It's much easier to read it as a series of tactical manoeuvring than to recognise it as genocide.
But the statement itself is a landmark and a dangerous one, even if it's not going to be translated to policy immediately.
I hope it will put an end to the idea that the war is primarily to dismantle Hamas or to punish Sinwar/Deif/Haniyeh (all dead).
