I don't know if it's just me but when someone who followed like 10k people follows me, they feel no different from a bot to me. There is no possible way for you to give proper attention to the people you follow.

While I can't discount that there's a real person operating some of those accs, it's just a method of casting the net wide and hoping to get a few follow-backs, but without real interaction and substance. It's kinda slimy.
I have like an artist who has 5k+ follows me, but idk if they see my post on some time whenever i post. Kinda bothers me there are several of people with a lot of followers follows me who are not bots but never reposts nor like my stuff. I can understand so many following but I feel that's am excuse
For some folks, these sites function less like an ideas exchange and more like a newsfeed. When they follow that many people it's just a stream of ideas they're after. Not direct engagement. I get your point, but that's (I think) the situation.
