Symbols & spectacle matter in politics. But whether or not Steve Bannon & Elon Musk did or did not do Nazi salutes is a bit of a diversion. They are deliberately provoking folk. And hence taking attention from their trashing & looting of government & the rule of law.

That's not 'a diversion'. It's a very clear act with very deliberate associations. They are sending a message to us all.
They are fascists. They are out, and they are proud of their fascism and pro-Nazism.
They are telling us precisely who they are and how untouchable they believe they are. It is an important part of their theatre.
