There's nothing more frustrating than to hear Trump voters saying they didn't vote for this. It's not as if Trump isn't the most chronicled & easily understood criminal in modern political history.

Listen to what? If you’re were listening to Fox, Newsmax, Rogan and Twitter what impression would you have got of Trump? And would you have felt it necessary to read Project 2025? That’s quite a lot of reading
I remember reading about what a major league creep Trump was, when I was a kid. Him getting elected despite being a thinly disguised mob boss really blew my mind. Nation of dumbasses, half of which can’t be bothered to vote.
And it's not like the Democrats didn't make it easy for them. They had to vote for the former prosecutor, who called for an immigration crackdown, and distanced herself from far left ideas
This erosion to democracy is due to the propaganda perpetrated by Fox and other right wing media. The oligarchs planned the take over of our government years ago. Those who don’t know history and actual facts are destined to make HUGE mistakes! And we are the victims of their ignorance and avarice!
I’ve never supported him for a second, but I’m still surprised and alarmed by how heavily he is treading compared to Trump 1.0, in terms of overt racism, sexism, transphobia, eagerness to vandalize valuable traditions and institutions. Naive I know, but I’m shocked.
It is frustrating that they pay attention to what interests them, and either ignore the rest or tell themselves he won’t do what he says he’s going to do.
Frustrated? You're gonna take a hit? Rather than be frustrated, listen to what's being said, not said, etc. For example: politics is a tiny distraction for most Americans, not something they obsess about like, say, an FT columnist.
Even educated Trump voters are now sucked into the Elon news cycle. “USAID was paying news outlets and so media cannot be trusted. Anything Elon tweets get magnified by his minions and becomes the truth”. People I speak to think that Doge is doing great things, Trump has got trade concessions etc.
They're still deluding themselves with talk of $8,000 stimulus cheques
Then they'll blame the democrats and say they sabotaged Trump, just like the Brexiters insist it's all the remainers fault and we've never actually had Brexit
They must have wild imaginations if they actually thought grocery prices would go down. But also remember, the citizens of the USA read at a 6th grade (6th Year) level.
Our election was never about the price of eggs🍳it is about INCOME INEQUALITY. For the 1st time ever U.S. children are economically worse off than their parents. The majority of resources go to a few, while most of us survive off less & less-yet our living costs continue to rise💵 https://youtu.be/l4XY-8Z-qxM
Living in a red area, my exp has been that the majority of folks truly believe 2020 election lies, vaccines are dangerous (even among ppl who've gotten really sick), etc. It's like a mass hallucination. Occasionally it's possible to have break through talking one on one being patient and friendly
The United States cannot right itself as long as its voters consider Fox News, Breitbart, OAN and their peers “news.” They are not. But if that’s all the “news” a household gets, they have no idea what is going on.
Dems losing to most chronicled criminal clown candidate ever has to be right up there as well. And just maybe then we'll get a frustrating Merrick Garland apology someday...
I loved reading and watching the Harry Potter stories with my son when he was growing up.
Unfortunately these days, I’m often reminded of Cornelius Fudge, Minister for Magic, ignoring the warnings of Voldemort’s return only to be gobsmacked when it was undeniable.
Ed, Americans made their bed, so I don’t have much sympathy. What bothers me is that Canadians are affected by their chaos. The King remains mum on America threatening our sovereignty. Would a word from him make it better or worse?
Don’t buy it, Mr. Luce. Between poorly informed voters, tax-lowering-power-hungry oligarchs, garden variety racists, misogynists, aspiring plutocrats, etc., these people knew what they voted for. Most of them didn’t give a flying fig. And wouldn’t now either except that some are now being affected.
As Popper observed, you can’t reply on the people to make the right decisions but you can rely on them to know when they’ve got it wrong. Let’s hope they still have the democratic power to get rid off him in 2028.

As my late grandmother would always say ‘turn on your brain cells before you speak or act’…

How it's going: screw the deficit we need to buy votes so give me money!
