I read this as three people and a lion in the room next to the scribe. But I’m seeing with eyes trained on 20th Century comics. Which could easily misinterpret the intent of the artist.
Counterargument: Why does the pointing guy have a halo, AND hang out with a lion, if he is not himself St Jerome?
