The first one i remember hitting me: sitting in my dad’s car listening to BB King’s “Hummingbird,” Dad so excited i’ve just bought this CD with one of his favorite songs, and the moment the backing singers hit that “don’t fly awayyyyyyy, awaaaayyyyy” at the end.

The Flamingos "I Only Have Eyes for You". The entire song is absolutely sublime, but near the end the lyric is "but they all disappear from view" and the vocal goes absolutely stratospheric and it never, and I mean NEVER fails to grab my soul and shake it a bit to make sure I'm still alive.

The chorus in Muscle Cars by Wussy, when Lisa Walker’s voice jumps up on the words “Talk Talk” (“and the stars, faster than muscle cars, are waiting to see if you’ll talk talk, talk talk, talk talk to me”) sends chills up my spine every time I hear it.

I came up with another one while I was listening to some music tonight. Robyn Hitchcock’s song “Sounds Great When You’re Dead” has an interesting twist at the end where he expands on the chorus. I won’t spoil it for you.
