My grandfather Clark West was on the original dream team that created a polio vaccine. Middle guy back row. I am sure he is rolling in his grave these days.
I had a friend who was in the last group to get polio before the vaccine was released. He wore a brace on his left leg until his death. Now they want to bring polio back. Grrrrr.
Most anti vaxxers cannot read this chart, let alone the article.
This is college level reading ( 12th to 15th depending on the scale) when the average American reads at 6th grade or lower.
This is a major part of the the problem in this country.
You know that saying among reactionary idiots that “hard times create strong men, strong men good times, good times create weak men, weak men create hard times”?
Ironically, that’s the story of vaccination and the people who worked hard for it. The weak men have seized power.
RFK jr. needs to come before a confirmation panel and explain his ridiculous position on vaccines. And he better bring evidence (which he has not got). Then he should be laughed out off the room.
Thank you for posting this graph as a reminder that science can feel like magic. I would never imagine when I was younger that the benefits of vaccines would need to be explained to people.
The defense I hear from anti-vax is that it’s the body’s natural defense developing an immune to the virus. That’s why the cases have gone down. SMH So sad people actually think this.

You know, both sides.
