Sad thing about this, Trudeau may have been very unpopular here, and Trump may have real legitimate beefs with him. But Trump has taken a petty vendetta now to all of Canada and made it personal, and we are pissed. All he has done has awake a mild beaver and turned it into a very angry wolverine.

Just had friends cancel a trip from Toronto to Las Vegas to see a show booked and paid for in full months ago. They are taking a big financial hit cancelling yet they still cancelled.

I like when the CEO says it was a "disproportionate response". I mean Canada didn't slap on 25% tariff with false pretext about fentanyl to begin with. Seems like that was disproportionate. Honestly, this approach to tariffs on our neighbors and allies are going to hurt the US for a long time.

Once a supply chain moves, its hard to bring it back. Just look at soy beans from last time. Especially with a trade partner you no longer trust that negotiated and now backed out of the original deal.

There is a reason so many of Trump's businesses failed and banks stopped lending him money.

Perhaps Mr Whiting is unclear on the concept of a trade war. His anger is entitled misplaced. Trump started a trade war not for any legitimate purpose and responding to it in equal measure would be disastrous for Canada. Canada must up the ante to make Trump feel pain. That’s the way to survive.
