Here’s the rub for him: He doesn’t run the city, he doesn’t rule it, he doesn’t own it. DC has its own city government independent of the White House, so if and when the Orange One tries this, he’ll find himself in court AGAIN, in a case I seriously doubt he could ever win.

There’s a complicated relationship between the municipal government of D.C. and the federal government in D.C. Congress has final say on the City budget but residents elect their own leaders. The President fulfills neither role and has no authority over local civilian policing in the right-of-way.
