The Great Salt Lake has 70 percent less water than it did just a few decades ago, and for it to begin to refill, farmers will have to grow less alfalfa and hay using irrigation.

The Utah legislature kicked this idea around a couple years ago. Would require a pipe from the Pacific across multiple mountain ranges, use enormous amounts of energy, involve massive regulatory hurdles, and not actually provide enough water.
My family moved to UT from TX when I was a kid in '94. Everyone treating the desert like it's got all the water like everywhere else legit had me not comprehending it AS A DESERT for decades.
As to leadership, I keep thinking being homebound disabled is keeping me out of MAGA crosshairs. For now...
