I’m on my second time through the album. Musically it reminds me of Swallow the Sun at times.

This will be my “first thing in the morning” listen for a while. It’s exactly what I want to hear with my first cup of coffee.

Love this, so many aspects to sounds. Doom as a genre is so so diverse I guess like all music genres.
It does help fans direct their interest to new artists etc but genres can also limit fans to choosing safe to genres they love. Fair play for trying something you wouldn’t normally go for.

Already roughly halfway through, and I wasn't sure what to expect from "monastic" as an adjective here, but I'm enjoying it. I usually prefer doom be a little more... dirty? More the blackened end of things, but this is very, very nice.

Monastic would be in relation to the vocal style of Gregorian chant. I didn't tag it personally, that's what it says on Bandcamp. I think I like this because it's not like typical doom. I can't handle doom with "cookie monster" low vocals. I just can't listen to it. So this is nice.

Chant is honestly what choral vocals evolved from, so to me this is very choral. I probably have a different concept of what choral means, as I sing Latin chant and choral music professionally.

I love the second one too, and the vinyl is gorgeous, but this one in particular was one of my most listened in '23. Mark Deeks is incredibly talented and versatile.
