Many of the major leaps in evolution of life on earth happened at a period of crisis. And many of the leaps were fueled by a new level of organization/cooperation. Just something to remember.

Trump: “Sure, we’ve probably evolved from something in nature. Probably some creation aspects too. People aren’t sure. We may never find out. Some of us are evolving faster than others. I’m bigger than most, I have more money. It’s just evolution.”
I honestly and naively thought when COVID hit us - that what you described was going to happen, and it was a blow when it didn't. Then Trump got elected..AGAIN.
I have read enough history books to think you're probably right but demoralized enough that I fight with that hope.
