(2) Make no mistake, the woman she employed knew how to make herself liked and to criticize so my employer was satisfied. I know, this was a very toxic environment and I'm happy that it's far behind me.
(3) I remember this one time she prepared the garden for winter. It was autumn and it was still very warm. I wasn't told what would be done, but I assumed she'd dig the garden, remove the dead plants that couldn't bear fruit anymore and leave the ones that were still green and bountiful. Right?
(4) Wrong! There was this beautiful zucchini plant that was flowering like crazy. It even had a small zucchini I was waiting to grow, so we could cook it. She plucked it up as well because "it won't live long anyway because it's going to get cold". It only got cold enough about a month later.
(6) Now I have a small garden of my own and my neighbor has a small farm in the city. He has had his pots out since last year, and he didn't pluck the plants out. In fact, he had tomatoes and chilli for as long as it was warm enough and the plants could still live.
(7)That man is very hard working too, and if he can leave his plants like that and it doesn't bother him, I guess there's no reason to prematurely take out a plant that is still fruitful at the end of the season.
