The first couple of corners they pulled out a gap to see how I took them, but after that I felt like they were confident I'd hang on.

One of those things that you can't set out to do, it just happens spontaneously. Special.
Doing it on a closed course, with a team car, was next tier for sure. Sums up pro cycling for me though, just as much as introducing my kids to their heroes after a race does.
