Is the hedge solid enough with plant material that the primroses and wild garlic grow *up* the hedge? We have nothing like that here in north central US.

Cornish hedges are pretty unique and special... made with large locally quarried stones, infilled with soil, then planted (or not... sometimes just left to colonise) with native plants

Beautiful! It'll be ramp season here soon, too! Wild garlic/ wild leeks are called "ramps" here.

Spring is great for wild food foraging. We pick ramps, trout lily leaves, and fiddleheads. Some people find wild asparagus, but I haven't been so lucky - yet. Do you harvest any of your wild garlic?

They both find their own way there, along with many other wonderful native plants. This particular stretch of Cornish Hedge is very old, so the plant community is long established...
