Marked by a yew tree, a four-mile-long straight stretch of old drovers' road (the A30) heading to Sutton Scotney, aligns a bank of Woolbury Ring hillfort with the knoll visible on the horizon. 40,000 years of worked flint - from the Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age - was found in this knoll in Popham.
