The first is #NiceDisc: The Last Hot Blood, a battle arena fighting game where you pick up and fling discs at opponents. There is also a story mode that is more akin to a side-scrolling beat-em-up. Next is #ChojuYokaiGiga, a side-scrolling platformer where instead of directly controlling the action, you summon animals and fight yokai. Yes it is a deckbuilder, no you are not going to mistake this for another Slay the Spire clone lol. Available FREE on Steam and itch:

And finally #Hamayumishi, another FREE game on itch. This one is a side-scrolling twin-stick shooter (!!) with cool yokai and sweet moves. This is Daikon's current big project that he is planning to keep free forever just bc he just loves working on it so much:

No offense but anyone who can't find new and different indie games are just not trying hard enough LOL. They're not even hidden or buried, there are so many different kinds of indie games doing all kinds of weird and cool stuff and they're just EVERYWHERE, if you can't find them that's a skill issue

Here is one (of many) ways I find #IndieGames:

1. Follow a bunch of people on itch
2. Click the "Feed" button at the top
3. BAM. Dozens of games that folks are reviewing, adding to collections, releasing, etc
4. Do your part by reviewing, adding games to collections, leaving comments, etc

And streamers. Plenty of streamers devoted to playing indie games. If you don't want to watch the actual stream you can flick tot he end where they'll probably give their opinion. It's also likely curated in the sense that they aren't going to want to showcase a shite game.

I remember coming across the Humble Indie Bundle years ago and finding Cave Story+. Completely floored when I found out it was a solo dev that made the music and everything. Have loved indie games since.

That is really great to hear, and yeah, I loved playing Cave Story as a kid! I accidentally stumbled upon it while clicking around Japanese doujin game sites and fell in love ahaha. I really want more people to be able to find games like these, regardless of whether they get picked up by outlets
