My current job isn't a good example. Some days I do work from home phone support, other days I provide in-person device support at customer sites, commute could be from 15min up to ~7hrs
My recent jobs were at fixed times and locations. Commutes for those were:
- 20-30 min
- 5-15 min
- 30-45 min
I like it overall, but it's got drawbacks! Sometimes it's easy but boring cause it's a slow day on the phones. other days I do a 13 hour shift because I had to drive 6 hours each way to do a simple task. others I'm actually working working the entire day, either call after call or lots of local jobs
i can't drive so i have to find rides or take an uber, but my workplace is about 5 miles away. it's usually around a 10-15 minute trip. some of my coworkers have much longer commutes though x.x
I didn't drive cause parking is insanely expensive- but bus ride was an hour and a half each way. Driving there would probably be 45mins, on a good day.
My current temp job and location is unusual in that Seattle has special express lanes open in the direction of most rush hour traffic, IF an on ramp is available. So my current drive to work is only 40 minutes or so, but coming back I can’t get to the express lanes and my commute slows to an hour.
Before. I'm 35-40 minutes to get to work, and 50-60 minutes to get home (even if I break it up). There's some other options with crash space during rush hour I haven't tried yet.

Before working this place though I typically drove around 50km to work/100km daily.
I don't live in a big city though.
