TinyMUCK? :-) Yeah, I was there when all of that got started. I think initially we were using telnet and then started writing apps like tinyfugue (tf) - my mates at Purdue were writing all these clients. Crazy scene. But man, it really helped me write descriptive scenes! Small world, indeed.
I don’t remember if it was TinyMUCK. Only that it or at least the crew I ran with on it was very anime themed. Man, that was like… 1995? 96 maybe? About the only thing I do remember was connecting with some software called Pueblo.
I think it was originally called "tinymuck" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TinyMUCK but now known as muck. Don't remember that software, btu furymuck was the most popular but I never got involved in the furry stuff. Mostly was involved in the fandom bits.
