I honestly think he won “fair” and square…due in large part to rampant misinformation, siloing in social media bubbles, and basically creating their own news sources. We are a country that is bad at deciphering bullshit and prefer willful ignorance if it means more money after taxes.
And I also think uneducated people wanted to beat “the elites” and don’t care about anything else except winning. Integrity and consistent morals be damned.
While some of these are good points, we also need to remember that inflation hit a record high, and our economy (in the perspective of the average person) has deteriorated over the past 4 years. Unfortunately, I believe any republican candidate would've won this election. Trump just happened to run.
Some voters were also split on how immigration and foreign policy should be addressed. JB's cabinet wasn't able to descale the ongoing wars and wasn't able to inspire confidence in our economy despite several macroeconomic pointers indicating an impressive development (avoiding a recession, even).
