as someone who started birding just a year ago and has barely bought any photography gear because I'm terrified of buying the wrong thing this pic just makes me more scared. I need a class....
I bought a canon EOS sl2 got a 2x af plus a 75-300 lens to start but I'm really wanting what I see everywhere are those big lens that get great close up pics I just don't know what to get for an idiot like me that won't cost a small car

SL2 might not autofocus with f/11.
Just use the 75-300 without the 2x.
Enable only the center auto focus point.
And keep that focus point on the bird.
