McCabe’s injuries over the last few weeks are sadly reminding me of Muzzin’s end in Toronto. Not sure there’s a question in there, but wow I’d like to see that side of the game go away…

Watching the leafs this year is so confusing. They're winning, and the results look good, but the way they play is slow, boring and seems to focus on simple plays over skillful ones. Am I wrong in this assessment? Isn't this (basically) how they played in the playoffs under Keefe?

Follow up question: Are the people in the analytics department having a hard time with all the dump and chase? Carry-ins typically have a much higher shot chance than a dump-ins, and it seems to be showing in their shooting metrics.

Sure, but they're not playing like world-beaters. Beyond the goaltending metrics, this may be the worst they've played stylistically since Matthews has been in the league.

I think they had a worse team last year, Matthews dragged them into the playoffs with his insane scoring. The hockey hasn't been very pretty (understatement with Bertuzzi flailing around last year) in the Treliving era, but let's see how far it will get them in the playoffs.

How unusual is it for such a good defensive D like Tanev to have so few hits (the only regular Leaf with fewer is Nylander)? Are there other comparable, as most of the lighter hitting D are more offensive types? And given his effectiveness will we see more imitators?

why has the TV/broadcast experience not substantially changed for viewers at home despite puck/player tracking technology?

I still can't get a feed with puck tracking or live advanced statistics. 99.999% of Leaf fans consume games by broadcast yet we are ignored and the product is beyond stale.

Would be a neat experience! It’s not the announcers are providing a ton of revenue…I’m not sure why they wouldn’t offer it as an option. Especially when Gary galley is colour.
