Admiral Cochrane was a wild child, I guess. A talented naval officer who went bankrupt, he took a job leading the Brazilian navy during the War of Independence. Rumours flew around him having an affair with Maria (she would NEVER). I once saw his coat in @ntlmuseumsscot.bsky.social /4
