One idea is to ONLY give our grocery money yo food banks and EVERYONE get all our food from them - they would be well funded, our groceries would be much cheaper, and there would be plenty free food for those in need.

We can do SO much if most of our money doesn't go to corporate profit!

And we should add that Muskrat’s cuts to the FDA, USAID and USDA effectively ended federal support of food banks. They’re all going to be hurting for food supplies to buy at reduced costs. No one wins in trumps world but him.

Absolutely! My poor dad was so embarrassed (his own words) to have to go to the food bank. People don’t take advantage of food banks—they just need a little extra help.

I've been taking in boxes of food that keeps (canned, dried) and things like soap, tp, etc to the local food bank. This is going to hit people hard.

Thinking, "I know someone who took advantage?". So do I. This can feel like gaslighting if you personally know otherwise. But here's the thing: it does not matter. Abusers are a vast minority. If you're refusing to support 10,000 people because 1 is a bad actor, you're making excuses to be cruel.
