The price of crude oil has dropped more than 20% in the past 12 months. Canada imports about 140 million barrels per month to the US. That's a loss of $2.8 billion per month off the top.

There is also the loss of China buying oil from the US and buying it directly from Canada

So we no longer export that amount to the US

They’re hard numbers to read because so much of the import/export $ aren’t consumer goods

Our integrated markets mean we export aluminum to have it manufactured into a component and then it’s imported back in to make a finished product. Not just cars -we do this for city light standards apparently
