Why is Musk not concerned when surveys indicate clearly that “the people” are not at all on board? Because he’s a eugenicist who’s convinced only the (predominantly white, male) “elite” of intelligence and overall awesomeness really gets it. The rest of us? Unworthy anyway. No need to listen.

This is all in line with conservative thought since the founding that government is the enemy of the people. Whereas liberal people believe govt IS the people and makes life better for all. I’m not sure this dichotomy can be resolved with politics as usual anymore.
