Oh, also as someone else pointed out, this is gonna encourage scammers. I've already had to talk someone through 'thats not how discord would operate via email, there's spelling mistakes in the screenshot'. People fall for it easier than you'd think.

Oh no I believe it, there was already a black market for usernames and Server Tags, now it's gonna be worse with account hijackings to sell off these "orbs" with it

I just read the faq and you can't give other people orbs, it's basically just a reward system for watching ads and you spend it on Discord items which does include some profile stuff

Still sounds like an incentive for people to push scams further as proven here not everyone is gonna know how it works and it just leads to more scams. And overall still kinda scummy and idk how many people actually care about profile customization? Pfp, banner and color seem enough for me

maybeee, ive had the experience of clicking on a discord profile with like 20 different elements on it that make it unreadable

there are some people that are def into that stuff

i mean ive seen a lot of profiles with Emma Frost around the pfp

Emma Frost one was just to play Marvel Rivals with Discord streaming and 99% of people I know already do that so it was a given lol. Most I've seen were the free ones so idk I don't find much appeal in it
