I think the protests against Levy/Enic could be the final nail in the Manager's coffin. The only response Levy can make to the protests at the moment is to sack him.

I know results are poor, but it would be madness to sack him now. At least give him his best players back so they can get some momentum with the free mid-weeks coming up, and then if results are still poor then make the decision. I’d wait until end of the season in any case.

The majority of Spurs fans are delusional. The cause of the teams problems has been staring them in the face for years but most flatly refuse to acknowledge it. And for as long as they do, no manager (not even Pep) can bring success to the club.

You can build a strong bond though success or adversity.
I've seen our players continue to try for Ange despite the injury crisis and criticism, and Ange has defended them.
This team has been forged and it'd be mad to sack Ange now having been through footballing hell!

I’m sorry Matt, you seem like a positive bloke but this is surely delusional. We’ve completely regressed since November 2023 in so many aspects, most notably how sides cut through us like butter every single time they attack. The coaching is not fit for PL standards, from Ange down to Jedinak.

I can still see a brighter future with Ange at the helm.
We've seen glimpses of what is possible in wins like the 4-0 over City. But with eleven players missing for months they have no chance, and last season we didn't have the right players.
We need to give Ange time to build

He's not infallible.
I get some of the criticism about us being too open. I just can't tell how much is down to tactics and how much is not having the personnel - either through injury or just not having been signed yet.
I'd just like to judge him with a fully fit squad over a decent period

It is telling how few analysts spend any time reviewing the avalanche effect of repeating a Thursday/Sunday schedule on injuries. Stating facts is not making excuses and it sucks he has to make the point in this way.

2 or 3 sides get in the Europa every year plus 4 in the Champions League. It’s something that’s not isolated to us. Injuries have played a massive part but that doesn’t give mediocre coaching a free pass

It isn't one or two players. The press treated Saka being out is a crisis for Arsenal. Attacking/pressing requires squad rotation and we've tried to sit back more (with poor results). Injuries have set back adding needed nuance to Ange's tactics and stability.

My point is though, bar Madders that’s our best midfield, and it is so worrying how they were getting bypassed with every forward ball. They mindlessly press and the coaching out of possession is Sunday league standards. It won’t matter as much as you think it will when the players come back

Good article, Ali. You talk about Levy's 18 month itchy fingers, but since (and including) Poch, he has only fired managers who have lost the dressing room and the terraces. Ange seems to have the support of the majority of fans and its clear that the players are all in for Angeball.
