Lol. There is no “argument” there and nothing profound in pointing out that “terrorism” is not mathematically precise. A lot of these “conversations” are based on a desire to sanitize the conduct of one’s ideological allies, e.g., Hamas.

Any definition of “terrorism” that does not put this guy in the same class as someone who assassinates an abortion provider is just bad faith nonsense. Either both or neither.

School shooters are not classified as terrorists. Many scholars and non scholars argue they should be. Though, some in the field believe the definition needs to remain narrow. If it gets too broad, then groups that may be resistant groups or movements will possibly be classified as terrorist groups.

That last part still happens, but there’s push back because we don’t open the definition too wide. Sometimes it’s difficult to define what exactly a lone wolf terrorist attack would look like, vs an assassination attempt vs a school shooting. You’re welcome to debate and be part of these discussions

But talking in absolutes as if you have it all figured out, while many experts are still discovering new complexities in the field is not participating in discussion but instead argument. In which case why are you even here? Except to have an argument and let out your frustrations on others. And obviously character count got in the way of making my first point more eloquent but in this case I would argue Luigi committed an assassination not a terrorist attack.
